Welcome to Branmyson.com. Herein, you will find some very interesting information on several historical topics as well as some fair pictures of various subjects (mostly scenery). If you were interested, you could also look up the webmaster under the about page. The papers range from a power comparison of the Russian Orthodox Church under Czar Peter and the Byzantine Orthodox under their emperors, and a long paper about the Saxon tribe and its eventual subversion under the Franks lead by Charlemagne. Besides these papers there is also a segment of book reviews on certain academic books, covering Utopia, FDR, and The Debate on the English Reformation. 2007 was a good year for the webmaster, as he was able to make a trip to Europe for 11 days, and to Glacier National Park for 7. Since then, the webmaster has placed photos from these trips and other lesser trips under the Pictures section.

The webmaster welcomes any comments from anyone, and this includes constructive criticism. Aside from quite recently, the website has not been updated in over a year. Thus, the content serves as a reference to past writings and projects. For example, there is a project that was partially completed attempting to aggregate information on the Saxon Tribes (preview can be found at: http://www.branmyson.com/contsaxons/.) Perhaps in the future the section will be completed to some level of accuracy and brought into full communion with the present website.

Notable Features

The Background Image for Sunday One of the most diverse items of the site is found in the background pictures section, Every Monday and Thursday, a new picture is placed on the site that is suitable for use as a background image. if you would look to the right, you would find a sample size of the picture for today. These pictures have been hand picked out of several thousand, and will supply your desktop with a new picture just before you can get bored with it.

As time goes on, more papers will be added to the website. At the moment, the papers are all focused on European History (and a subsequent America) with one exception concerning the city of Susa, which was at one time a capitol of Persia during the time Xerxes and Darius. The webmaster continues to learn about the great flow of history having participated in a graduate program focusing upon Medieval Europe and the Anglo-Saxons and their conversion.

As a result of some of the incredible trips of the webmaster, there are now some select pictures from these travels posted on the website. Some of these are part of the Monday-Thursday update, but not all of them. Over time, this page is also going to increase as new trips are taken, and new seasons take hold in the north.

Recent Updates

The blog was the most frequently updated section of the website, until studies and the closure of ftp uploads by blogger made it difficult to easily update. Other services may be used to replace this feature, however this will be made manifest in the fullness of time.

For the most part, the research papers and book reviews are taken from the time the webmaster was in college studying history. There are a limited number of book reviews here that were produced during the first semester of graduate school, and show some improvement. As time progresses, other book reviews will find their way onto the site as time permits.
